Colts-Liverpool Preview
The Liverpool Privateers coming off Friday night’s 6-2 and seven-game series win over the East Hants Penguins will play game one of their Fred Fox Divisional Final Wednesday evening at 7:30 in Cole Harbour. The Game will be played on Ice 1. The Colts going into the game will not have played an actual game for 11 days and whether any rust will be showing is yet an unanswered question. The Colts as NSJHL fans are keenly aware had a splendid season, starting at 1-1-0 before reeling off ten consecutive victories and a spot atop the Fred Fox Division. The Privateers began their season at 4-0-0 but then slumped to 4-9-2 before picking up again in the second half and finishing in third place at 14-12-4 for 32 points. The Colts were 24-5-1 on the season for 49 points. In the regular season between the two clubs, the Colts finished 5-0-1 in their six games with the Privateers while Liverpool went 1-3-2 with three of their six games requiring one overtime and 2 shoot-outs before they were decided. The Colts outscored the Privateers 24-15 in their six games and outshot the Privateers 198-180. The Colts and Privateers were 2nd and 3rd defensively in the league this season. The Colts allowed 69 goals and the Privateers 94. Neither team placed high offensively as the Colts scored 127 times to place 6th in the offensive ranks while Liverpool netted 98 goals and finished 8th in league scoring. Cooper and Tyler Puma paced the way for the Colts in the 6 game regular season between the two teams. Cooper scored twice and added 6 assists for eight points while Tyler scored five times and added a pair of assists for seven points. With the close contests between these two clubs this season, this Best-of-Seven Fox Division Final promises to be a great one, similar to the seven game series played in the Fox Semi-Finals in 21-22.
