A wild scoring affair in Liverpool

It was a wild and wooly affair at Queens Place Emera Centre in Liverpool as fans did not know what to expect one minute to the next.  Home fans saw their Privateers fall behind 2-0 after one period and 5-2 after two period to the Capstone Colts only to see their Privateers rally for three goals in the third and then notch another in sudden-death overtime for a 6-5 win and pull the Privateers to within one game of tying the Best-of-Seven Series at 2-2.  Game 4 is scheduled for Liverpool Sunday afternoon at 1:30 p.m.  Cooper Puma and Brayden Hooper-Richard put the Colts ahead after one period.  The Privateers tied it on a short-handed goal from Malcom Bussey only 33 seconds into the middle period and another from Zach Evans 1:08 later to knot the score at 2-2.  A dreadful final ten minutes of the second saw the Colts score there in a row including two in the final two minutes of the middle period by Will MacRae and Cody Garcin.  Liam Andrews put the Colts in front 3-2 with 7:48 to play in the second.

The third period was a remarkably different scenario as the Privateers Daniel LeBlanc with a pair and Daniel Kline with a single marker tied the contest at 5-5 after regulation.  The teams then went to a ten-minute sudden death and with only 1:24 showing on the clock Joe Osborne threaded the needle for the Privateers and give them a 6-5 win.  It marked the second game in the opening three that went into overtime.  Liverpool outshot the Colts 57-44 in a wide-open affair as both goaltenders Alex MacVicar of the Colts and Zach Nauss of the Privateers were kept on their guard the entire evening.  With Game 4 Sunday, Game 5 will be played Wednesday night at 7:30 on Ice I at Cole Harbour Place.
