Colts defence collapses late in first
The Capstone Colts defence collapsed in the closing stages of the opening period Saturday night and it will now take the 7th and deciding game to determine who will advance to the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League Championship Series to play the Antigonish Jr. Bulldogs, after Liverpool defeated the Capstone Colts 5-3 Saturday in Queens County. The Privateers scored scored three times in the final 1:52 of the first period to take a 4-2 lead after twenty minutes. Dylan Patterson with his second of the game, Jude Greenwood only 10 seconds later and then Daniel LeBlanc with his first of two, 53 seconds after Greenwood’s marker resulted in six of the game’s eight goals being scored in the opening period. LeBlanc’s second of the game made it 5-2 after forty minutes. Brayden Hooper-Richard scored the Colts third goal in the third period. Other Colt goal scorers were Colin Goodwin and Cody Garcin. Aidan Durnford played a spectacular game for the Privateers stopping 52 of 55 shots. Game 7 will be at the C.F.B. Shearwater Rink Wednesday night at 7:45 p.m.
