Strait Pirates score 6 times in 2nd
he Sackville Blazers fell to 1-1-1 on the 23-24 season after they were humbled at home Monday evening 8-3 by the Port Hawkesbury Strait Pirates. The Blazers jumped in front 1-0 after twenty minutes on a goal from Noah Sutherland before the Pirates exploded for 6 unanswered goals in the second period to give the Strait a commanding five-goal lead. Rory Wood and Landon MacInotosh both scored twice for the Pirates Matthew Ellis and Chase Ellis added singles. The teams traded a pair of goals in the final period with Matthew Ellis recording his second of the game and Chase Ellis the other. For the Blazers Cameron J. MacDonald and Jack Broderick replied making the final 8-3. The Strait Pirates outshot the Blazers 50-40 and are now 2-1-0 on the season. Degen Noble and Logan Durno however have both the first and second place in the League Scoring race after two weekends with Noble scoring five times and adding 5 assists in 3 games and Durno 2 goals and 7 assists for nine points in three games.
