Neck Guards will be mandatory in 2024 for NSJHL Players

The Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League’s Board of Governors and Executive met Tuesday night to discuss the issue of improved safety for all players concerning the wearing of neck guards.  As a result of a vote which was unanimously approved 11-0 by all teams, the following motion was passed.

Certified protective neck guards are to be worn during all on ice activities including practices, warm ups, and games; including exhibition games, effective immediately, however teams will not be fined until January 6th, 2024 pending equipment availability. Any players not wearing their neck guards will be fined $25 for any game they play in beginning on January 6th or pending equipment availability.
