A tie for game of the week
Two thrilling hockey games in the final week of play in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League and for the first time this year, there is a tie for game of the week, both involving the Capstone Colts. The two games were played Friday, Dec 8 at the John Paris Jr. Rink in Windsor between the Colts and Valley Maple Leafs in which the Leafs won 4-3 with a goal in the last 1:08 of regulation by Justin Banks to give the Leafs a 4-3 win. The Leafs led 2-0 after one period and 3-1 after forty minutes before the Colts tied it at 3-3 forcing the late game heroics that were required by either team to win in regulation, which Banks did for the Valley.
The other game which tied with the Colts and Maple Leafs was the East Hants -Colts game Saturday evening at C.F.B. Shearwater. The Colts won this time 4-3 in overtime marking the second time this year OT was required to settle a game between the Colts and Pens. East Hants won the opener 4-3. League action resumes Friday, Jan 5/24.
