Pens blast Blazers 8-1 in Sackville

Noah Comeau had a sizzling night for the East Hants Penguins as he scored a pair of goals and added 3 assists in the Penguins 8-1 thumping of the Sackville Blazers Monday night in Sackville.  The win for East Hants was their 18th in 23 games and once again moved them into sole position of first place in the Fred Fox Division, 2 points had of the Colts and 4 ahead of the Lumberjacks.  The Blazers appear to be destined for a fourth place finish as with the loss they fell 14 points out of first place, 12 out of second and ten points out of third place.

The Blazers were rolling from the start as they took period leads of 3-1 and 7-1 before scoring their final goal of the game in the third.  Besides Comeau’s two goals, Brody Fraser scored a pair as well,  with singles going to Ryan Langlois, Nick Veinot, Davis Cooper and Morgan Lake.  Zachary Jenkins briefly tied the game at 1-1 in the first period for the Blazers who were outshot 47-40 by the Penguins.  With his five points, Comeau made a surge in the League scoring race moving into a three-way tie for third place with 28 points on 7 goals and 21 assists.
