Bulldogs Game 1 in Do Jo Wednesday afternoon
The AA Munro Antigonish Jr. Bulldogs will open their Don Johnson Memorial Cup Schedule in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland at 3:00 p.m. Atlantic Time Wednesday afternoon when they play the St. John’s Junior Capitals. The Capitals and host Mount Pearl Glaciers opened play Tuesday evening with the Glaciers upending the Capitals 5-2. The Bulldogs are seeking their second consecutive Don Johnson Championship after winning it last year in Liverpool, Nova Scotia defeating the Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers in the championship game.
This will mark the Bulldogs third straight appearance in the Atlantic Junior Championship having advanced two years ago to New Brunswick but they could not win it in 2021-22.
A total of five teams are competing for the 2023-24 Championship as along with the Bulldogs, Capitals, Glaciers, the Delco Kent Coyotes from New Brunswick and the Kensington Vipers of P.E.I. will also compete.
The Bulldogs second game in their four game round-robin will be against the Vipers from P.E.I. at 11:30 A.M. Atlantic time Thursday morning. The playoffs and Championship game are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
