Elks jump in front early

The Brookfield Elks exactly like in Bridgewater Saturday night,  jumped out in front of the Sackville Blazers Monday night in Sackville.  After the Blazers tied the game at 2-2 with two seconds left to end the first period, the Elks took a 3-2 lead five- -and-a-half minutes into the second.  However it was straight downhill after that as the Blazers scored five unanswered goals to defeat the Elks 7-4.  Scoring for the Blazers were Zach Jenkins, Matt Pluscauskas, Xavier Rivard, Joseph Breen, Brody Fitzpatrick, Dawson LaPlante and Will Meek.  Jackson Spraggon scored a pair for the Elks while Cale McClellan tallied for the Elks.  Sackville after falling near the .500 mark has now rebounded and are 12-9-1 for 25 points with eight games remaining in their regular season.  The Blazers outshot Brookfield 65-50.  Conor Blackwood blocked 46 of 50 shots for the Blazers while Caleb Oulton turned away 58 of 65 shots in the Brookfield nets.
