Pirates rout Scotians - Pens struggle in third
The Port Hawkesbury Strait Pirates had absolutely no difficulty with the Pictou County Scotians at the Civic Centre in Port Hawkesbury Fri Oct 15 as they routed the Scotians 7-0. Brady MacNeil and Danny Gillis both scored twice for the Strait Pirates with single markers going to Matthew Ellis, Gregor Yoell and Matthew Raike. Logan Saulnier chipped in with 3 assists for the winners who held period leads of 2-0 and 7-0 with no scoring taking place in the final period. Strait Pirates outshot Pictou 45-32.
Capstone Colts 4 East Hants Penguins 1
Before their trip to Liverpool and their win Saturday night Oct 16, the Penguins were stymied by the Capstone Colts 4-1. The Colts led 1-0 after forty minutes on a goal from Josh Moore. Bruen Fisher tied it for the Penguins 2:09 into the final period before the Colts breathed some fire and came back with three unanswered goals from Cole Good, Patrick Oxner and Tyler Puma. The Colts held a wide advantage in shots outshooting the Pens 44-20.
