Blazers win 5th of the season
Two long-time arch rivals met in Sackville Monday night with the Blazers clobbering the Valley Maple Leafs 7-1 in the opener of a home and home series which resumes in Windsor Friday night Oct 29 at 7:30 p.m. The 5-2-1 Blazers were coming off a stunning 2-1 loss to the Cumberland County Blues in overtime Friday night Oct 22 in Springhill.
Monday night, the Blazers held period leads of 2-0 and 3-0 while firing 67 shots at the Leafs net. Zephron Hachey, Daniel Surrette, Alex Charest, Noah Healy, Stephen Purdy, Mitchell Comeau and Jack Meek all scored single markers for the Blazers while Justin Banks tallied a third period goal for the Leafs after they fell behind the Blazers 4-0. The Leafs are now 1-4-0 on the season .
