Strait loses first of season

After suffering a gut-wrenching overtime loss in Port Hawkesbury Friday evening, the Liverpool Privateers regrouped and handed the Strait Pirates their first loss of the season in the conclusion of their weekend home and home series Saturday evening in Liverpool.  Jude Greenwood put the Privateers up 1-0 before the game was even two minutes old but Cameron Gillis then scored for the Strait and the teams were tied 1-1 after one period.  The Privateers Matt Ormon then scored a pair of goals 1:15 apart in the second to give Liverpool a 3-1 lead after forty minutes.  Liverpool then added a fourth goal from Daniel Kline before Danny Gillis scored for the Strait Pirates to make the final 4-1.  The Privateers are now 5-3-1 and four points behind the first place Sackville Blazers who stand at 7-2-1.  The Blazers and Privateers collide Monday Nov 15 in Sackville at 7:30 p.m.

Michael MacMullen was red hot for the Strait Pirates in nets despite allowing 4 goals as he turned away 63 of 67 shots fired at him.  The Strait Pirates had 28.  The loss for the Strait was their first of the season after five consecutive wins.
