Jr. Bulldogs now 8-0-0, Scotians sweep Blues
The AA Munro Antigonish Jr. Bulldogs are now 8-0-0 on the season following their 5-2 upending of the 1st Place Fred Fox Division Leader the Sackville Blazers Sunday evening in Antigonish. Jake MacDonald and Sam Grant both scored a pair for the Jr. Bulldogs and Fearghus MacDonald added a single. Luc Arsenault and Jack Walsh replied for the Blazers who trailed 2-0 after one period and 2-1 after forty minutes. The Blazers outshot the winners 34-21 but Blazers goalie Adam Fisher allowed 5 goals on 21 shots. The Jr. Bulldogs now head to Liverpool for a Remembrance Day afternoon game against the 5-3-1 Privateers before returning home to begin a weekend home and home series with the Eskasoni Jr. Eagles Friday evening.
Pictou 3 Cumberland 2
The Pictou County Scotians finished their third game in three days by sweeping the Cumberland County Blues 3-2 at home early Sunday evening. The game’s scoring all took place in the first period with Hayden Burgess and Thomas Kennaley and Connor Aucoin scoring for the Scotians who are now 4-3-0 on the season. Daniel MacKenzie and Jesse Estabrooks replied for the now 2-6-1 Blues who were outshot by the Scotians 44-28. The Scotians will now prepare for two tough games this Saturday and Sunday as the travel to Membertou to play the Jr. Miners before returning home against the Sackville Blazers Sunday evening. The Blues meanwhile are preparing for a home game Friday night at 7:30 against the Valley Maple Leafs.
