MacVicar records 2nd Shut-out of season

Alex MacVicar has been lights out in nets for the Colts in this young 22-23 NSJHL season. He has been in nets for all 4 Colts wins wile recording 2 shut-outs in the process including his latest in Shearwater Saturday evening 5-0 over the 3-3-1 Sackville Blazers. MacVicar has stopped 117 of 121 shots while recording a 0.99 GAA and a .967 save percentage. Brayden Hooper-Richard scored a pair of goals for the Colts while Tyler Puma, Cooper Puma and Colin Goodwin scored singles while also adding one assist apiece. The Colts outshot Sackville 46-36 and these same two clubs will clash again in Sackville Monday night at 7:30 p.m.
Brookfield 7 Valley Maple Leafs 3
The Valley Maple Leafs were coming off a heart-breaking 7-5 loss to the Sackville Blazers Friday night after holding leads of 4-1 and 5-3 and were hopeful things could conceivably change for them Saturday afternoon in Brookfield. Unfortunately, they did not as the Leafs lost their seventh consecutive game of this early season 7-3 to the now 4-3-0 Elks. Sam Rogers scored twice and added a pair of assists for the Elks who held period leads of 4-1 after both the first and second periods. The game also got carried away as it went along as a total of 150 minutes in penalties were called that included 10 misconducts, 2 Gross Misconducts and 3 double minors for spearing, roughing and disrespectful, abusive and harassing behaviour. Other Brookfield goal scorers were Keegan Macumber with a pair, Nathan MacHardie, Ben Fraser and Cale MacLellan.
