Another win for Jr. Eagles
The Eskasoni Jr. Eagles are now 4-0-1 to begin the 22-23 NSJHL Regular Season and sit on tp of the Sid Rowe Division after their 6-4 win at home Sunday over the Membertou Jr. Miners who fell to 1-4-0. In the process Marcellus Francis of the Eagles took over the League Scoring Lead scoring once and collecting two assists to give him 15 points in five games - eight goals and seven assists. Jacob Denny also scored twice for the Eagles with other single markers going to Sonny Kabatay, Sam MacKinnon and Jacob Wolodka. For the Jr. Miners it was Blake Cox, Alexander Chenhall, Coby McCarron and JarrettHicks who registered goals. Membertou found it frustrating at times as they outshot the Jr. Eagles 45-23 but Hunter Chenhall kept coming up with critical saves for Eskasoni. Elsewhere Sunday:Pictou 4 Cumberland 1The Scotians are now 4-0-0 as they defeated the Blues 4-1. Luke Young, Matt Carson, Cal Marner and Ryan Frizzle all connected for the Scotians while River Sears-Towe was the lone marksman for the Blues. The Blues fall to 1-7-0. The Scotians trail the Jr. Eagles by a single point in the race for first place in the Rowe Division.
