MacVicar continues outstanding play
Capstone 3 Valley Maple Leafs 0
Alex MacVicar continued his brilliant and sensational goaltending for the now 9-1-0 Capstone Colts as he recorded his third shut-out of the season in the eight games he has played as the Colts blanked the Valley Maple Leafs 3-0 at C.F.B. Halifax in Shearwater Saturday evening. Stephen Warwick, Trayner McCulloch and Benjamin Veinot scored for the Colts as the Leafs continued to struggle to score goals. The Colts outshot the Leafs 43-34 and MacVicar if he continues to play the way he is right now could lead the Colts to unknown heights! He has stopped 251 of 261 shots he has faced in eight games while having a goals against average of 1.25.

The Jr. Miners had a hard fought game with the Blues through two periods before Blake Cox’s short-handed effort at 13:44 of the third and Nathaniel Fuller’s into an empty net gave the Jr. Miners their fourth victory of the season. The teams were tied at 3 after forty minutes on goals from Fuller who scored his first of two and Landon Clark while Cody MacKay and Daniel MacKenzie tallied for the Blues. Cox who finished the game with his first of two and two assists actually put the Jr. Miners tied it for his club at 3-3 after Burke Beed put the Blues in front 3-2 half-way through the second period.
