Kabatay - 1st Star of Week
Every week it seems to be getting harder and harder to determine the Three Stars of the Week in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League and that is because of the outstanding performances put forward by so many individual players game in and game out. After much consideration the three stars of the League for the week of Nov 11-17 are:
1. Sonny Kabatay of the Eskasoni Jr. Eagles put in another outstanding week turning in a ten point performance in a win over the Cumberland County Blues. On the afternoon, he recorded 1 goal and nine assists and this is his 2nd consecutive week as first star of the League.
2. Dave Matthews of the Port Hawkesbury Strait Pirates recorded 7 goals in two games in which the Pirates won 10-3 and lost 10-3.
3. There was a three-way tie for third star of the week. They are Jacob Denny who recorded a goal and five assists, Alex MacVicar of the Capstone Colts who recorded yet another shut-out and Marcellus Francis who recorded a five-goal game Sunday afternoon for Eskasoni.
