Three Stars of Week named
The Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League had three very impressive performances this week as the Three Stars of the Week were named for the time period Dec 2-5/22.
First Star — His second selection this year in Sonny Kabatay of the Eskasoni Jr. Eagles. Sonny garnered three goals and five assists for 8 points in a 5-3 loss to the Membertou Jr. Miners and a 9-6 win over the Port Hawkesbury Strait Pirates. He continues to lead the League in scoring having scored 17 goals and adding 24 assists for 41 points in 14 games for the 10-3-1 Jr. Eagles.
Second Star — Andrew McCarron - Playing his first two games back after recovering from an injury, he continued where he left off last season where he tore the league apart in scoring after being traded by the Valley Maple Leafs to Membertou. The Jr. Miners dealt him back to the Leafs in the off-season and in a 7-1 win over Brookfield Friday, McCarron netted 4 goals and followed that up with 2 more in a 5-3 win over Liverpool Saturday night in Queens County.
Third Star — Dante Basque — He scored twice and added 4 assists in the Jr. Eagles 1-1-0 weekend.
