Tie for First Star of the Week
Some very impressive goaltending performances in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League between Jan 27 and Feb 2 and the dominate the three stars of the week.
1st Star — After the goaltending displayed by Ben Etsell of the Sackville Blazers and Pablo De Larrinaga Monday Jan 30 in Sackville - they are tied for first stars of the week. The Blazers eventually won it in a shoot-out but through 65 minutes, the teams were stymied again and again by Etsell who blocked 47 shots and De Larrinaga who turned away 55 shots.
2nd Star — Netminder Darian McInnis stopped 83 of 86 shots in two games for the Membertou Jr. Miners while collecting a shut-out and losing once in overtime as the Jr. Miners moved into a tie for the fourth and final playoff position in the Sid Rowe Division.
3rd Star — In the Jr. Miners 1-0-1 record between Jan 27 and Jan 30, Blake Cox continued to demonstrate his offensive ability and collected 4 goals and one assist to help the Jr. Miners going into their weekend match-up with Cumberland.
