The Liverpool Privateers and the Eskasoni Jr. Eagles both recorded wins in playoff action Tuesday night.  The following is a recap:

Liverpool   7     East Hants   5

The Privateers went up 2-1 in their Best-of-Seven series with the Penguins in Lantz.  The Privateers and Pens were knotted at 2-2 after twenty minutes and the Privateers led 4-3 after two periods.  In the opening period, Logan Colter put the Penguins on the scoreboard 31 seconds into the game before the Privateers Cole Elliot came back with a pair 2:09 apart to take a 2-1 lead.  Eight seconds after Elliot gave Liverpool their first lead of the game, Bruen Fisher tied it for the Penguins.  In the second, Malcom Bussey put Liverpool up by a pair in a span of 2:37 before Blake Irvine brought the Pens back to within one before the second period ended.  Elliot and Bussey both finished the game with a pair of goals and 2 assists.  In the third, Carson Gallant scored a natural hat-trick as he put the puck in the East Hants net on three separate occasions, the first one coming 52 seconds into the third, the second with 11:40 to play and his final one came with 51 seconds left in regulation.  In between Gallant’s three goals, Marshall Plandowski and Devin Meagher tallied for the Penguins but it wasn’t quite enough as Liverpool went up 2-1 in Games with the series returning to Liverpool Saturday night for a 7:00 p.m. start at the Queens Place Emera Centre.  Sunday night’s 5th game will be played in Lantz beginning at 7:45 p.m.  The Privateers outshot the Penguins 48-38.
