Pens-Blazers Game of the Week
The Sackville Blazers and their opponent certainly know how to please their fans, despite not always winning. For a second consecutive game at home, the East Hants-Sackville game has been selected game of the week. The Sunday afternoon game in Pictou between the South Shoes Lumberjacks and Scotians came a close second.
In the Monday night game in Sackville, the Penguins moved to 6-1-0 on the season after their 6-5 win over the Blazers in Overtime. No one in attendance never knew what would happen next as the Pens went up 2-0 after one period before the Blazers responded with five consecutive unanswered goals in the second to grab a 5-2 lead. Never say never and the Penguins showed they certainly did not give up as they scored three times in the third to tie the game and send it to overtime when Devin Meagher scored for the Penguins to give them their 6-5 overtime winner.
The Scotians and Lumberjacks game in Pictou Sunday, Oct 8 was a close 2nd as the Scotians defeated South Shore 5-4.
