Lumberjacks record huge win

Talk about a gigantic win…..the South Shore Lumberjacks certainly pulled one off in Sackville against the Host Blazers Monday evening by a score of 3-1.  South Shore moved to within two points of the third place Blazers in the Fred Fox Division and now stand at 7-6-1 for 15 points compared to Sackville’s 7-4-3 mark for 18 points.  Alec Howie put the Lumberjacks in front 1-0 with only 26 seconds left in the first period and that was all the scoring until Daniel Kline on the power-play put the South Shore up 2-0 in the third period. Keegan McDermid brought the Blazers back to within a goal until Cohen Westlake completed the game’s scoring for the South Shore in the final frame.  The South Shore outshot Sackville 50-34 and the Blazers required Ben Etsell to be at his best as he turned away 47 of the 50 shots.  The difficulty is that the Blazers could not get an offence untracked and it ended up costing them in the end.  These same two clubs do not meet again until the New Year when they will face-off once again Sackville Monday, January 8 at 7:30 p.m.
