Scotians score two third period goals to defeat Elks
The Pictou County Scotians continue to hum as they recorded a 3-1 win over the Brookfield Elks Sunday evening in Trenton. The win for the Scotians was their 13th in 19 games. The Scotians outshot Brookfield 30-23. The teams exchanged first period goals with Avery MacLeod scoring for the Scotians and Will Stewart for Brookfield who fell to 5-7-1 on the season. The teams were still tied at 1-1 entering the third before Ryan Frizzle netted the game winner for Pictou with just 3:12 remaining in regulation. Thomas Kennaley added the third Pictou goal. Camden Burgess recorded two assists for Pictou who still trail the 15-1-1 Antigonish Jr. Bulldogs by five points in the chase for first place in the Sid Rowe Division.
