Choosing the game of the week is not getting any easier as this weekend we enter the 2023-24 Christmas Break for the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League.  There were a couple of choices but the Selection Committee finally decided upon the East Hants Penguins-Valley Maple Leafs game of  Sunday Dec 3/23 as “The Game of the Week.”  The Valley forechecked relentlessly and kept the Penguins on guard the entire evening.  The Pens had two goals disallowed because they were ruled to have been kicked in.  The Maple Leafs missed two break-aways while one team hit a cross-bar and another a goal post before the Penguins scored the game winner with under six minutes to play to eventually win 3-1.  The Maple Leafs have lost 13 games this season, 6 of them by one goal while winning another by one goal.
