Fraser records shut-out
From a couple of outstanding games in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League Friday, Jan 5, the Brookfield Elks coming off a superb start despite losing 2-1 to the Capstone Colts Friday, fell apart abysmally Saturday afternoon as they were throttled by the South Shore Lumberjacks 10-2 trailing 2-0 and 6-0 after the first and second periods. Daniel Kline and Daniel LeBlanc both scored a pair of goals for the Lumberjacks with a single goals going to David Graham, Aaron Lane, Owen Cleary, Ethan MacVicar, Aiden Fisher and Owen Osborne who also collected a pair of assists. Both Brookfield goals were scored in the third period and came off the sticks of Adriel Schwarz and Dawson Blanchard. South Shore outshot the Elks 47-28. The Lumberjacks won their 13th game in 18 starts and now get ready for the Sackville Blazers who they will play in Sackville Monday night at 7:30 p.m. Four points currently separate the fourth place Blazers and third place Bridgewater based team.
