Three League Games on tap today
t is certainly far from quiet in league play today. Action begins at 4:00 p.m. in Brookfield as the Elks play the Capstone Colts. These two teams played in Shearwater Jan 12 and the 17-5-1 Colts eked out a 2-1 win in regulation. The Colts won another game in Shearwater 3-0. Today marks the tird time these teams have played each other this season. The Elks are looking for their 7th win of the season in 21st game. The Elks and Colts still have a make-up game scheduled for Brookfield as an earlier one had to be postponed due to inclement weather.
In Bridgewater Saturday night, the Lumberjacks will take their 16-4-1 record into a home contest with the Sackville Blazers, a team they handled easily 8-1 in Sackville Monday evening. However one never knows what to expect as the Blazers upended the Colts in Shearwater last evening 6-3 scoring three unanswered goals in the third period. Game time in Bridgewater is 7:00 p.m.
Meantime in Membertou, the Jr. Miners who lost to the Jr. Bulldogs in the dying minutes in Antigonish Friday will attempt to get back on the winning track against the Pictou County Scotian’s in a 7:30 start. This promises to be a dandy as this will be the fourth and final time they will meet in the regular season this year. In three earlier games, the Scotians scored a pair of 3-2 wins in Trenton including one in overtime while in Membertou, the Jr. Miners won 6-5 in overtime.
