Scotians-Jr. Eagles named Game of the Week

It could literally have been anyone of five games in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League tone chosen for Game of the Week between Jan 24 and 31st as the League had two overtime games and two other other one-goal games.  However when the final decision was made in an exceptionally close vote, the Pictou County Scotians who rallied from 3-0 and 4-2 deficits and saw Matt Carson notch his 20th goal of the season, one behind league leader Devin Meagher of East Hants, as the Game of the Week.

The Scotians playing at home Sunday night in Trenton, fell behind 3-0 after one period, rallied for a pair in the second only to fall behind 4-2 again in the third before they scored three consecutive goals with slightly more than six minutes remaining in regulation to defeat the Eskasoni Jr. Eagles 5-4.

Other games strongly considered were the two overtime games involving the Valley Maple Leafs who lost 3-2 to Sackville and defeated Brookfield 4-3.  The other two were the 4-2 Colts win over the South Shire Lumberjacks and the Strait Pirates 2-1 win at home over Eskasoni.
