Campbell and Puma named players of the week
Eli James of Pictou and Jackson Spraggon while not earning players of the week, still earned points this week going toward player of the month for January as the Nova Scotia Egg Farmers Players of the Week for Jan 10-14 were named today.
Fred Fx Division:
1. Cooper Puma — was named Fred Fox Division Player of the Week after his five point performance in his club’s two 5-3 wins over the Valley Maple Leafs and the East Hants Penguins. Puma recorded 3 assists in the win over the Leafs and a goal and an assist in the colts 5-3 win over East Hants. He takes home two dozen eggs from the Egg Farmers of Nova Scotia for his efforts.
2. Noah Comeau — recorded a five point week in a win and a loss by the Penguins. In the 5-3 loss to the Colts, he recorded a pair of assists while collecting a pair of goals and adding another assist in the 5-3 win over Sackville.
3. Jackson Spraggon — There appears to be no slowing down this player as he recorded multiple point efforts in two losses by the Elks. He had a pair of goals in the Elks 7-4 loss to Sackville and a pair of assists in the Elks 4-3 loss to the South Shore.
Sid Rowe Division:
1. Venel Campbell — stole the show in the Sid Rowe Division as he piled up 7 points. He recorded 4 assists in the Jr. Bulldogs 6-3 win over Pictou and scored twice and added an assist to earn two dozen eggs from the NS Egg Farmers as player of the week in the Sid Rowe Division.
2. Eli James — continued to rack up points toward player of the month honours as he helped the Scotians blank the Membertou Jr. Miners 1-0 by stopping all 36 shots he faced.
3. Leo MacLean — earned 1 point toward player of the month tabulations by scoring twice and adding two assists in the Port Hawkesbury Strait Pirates 6-5 loss to Membertou.
