8 Days to the close of the regular season

There are now only 11 regular season games remaining from the 165 that were scheduled for the 2024-2025 season in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League.  Yet with those 11 games, third place still has to be clinched in both the Fred Fox and Sid Rowe Divisions.

Battling right now are four teams, in the Rowe the Membertou Jr. Miners and Port Hawkesbury Strait Pirates are vying for third and whoever succeeds will face the Pictou County Scotians in the opening round of a Best-of-Seven Divisional Semi-Final.  The Jr. Miners are currently at 11-15-2 for 24 points after 28 games while the Pirates are at 9-16-3 for 21 points while also having played 28 games.  Membertou has two road games remaining, one in Brookfield Sat Feb 15th at 4:00 p.m. and another in Antigonish Sun Feb 16th at 7:30 p.m.  The Pirates meanwhile will play Eskasoni in Eskasoni Saturday Feb 15th before finishing their regular season Sunday night Feb 16th in Pictou.

Meanwhile, the Sackville Blazers have a game in hand on the South Shore Lumberjacks and have 30 points compared to the Lumberjacks 28 points and third place may not be decided until Saturday Feb 15 when the Blazers and Lumberjacks collide in Bridgewater for a 7:00 p.m. start.  The Blazers are currently 14-11-2 for 30 points compared to the Lumberjacks 13-13-2 record for 28 points.  The Blazers will also play the Colts in Shearwater Friday, Feb 14th at 7:30 p.m. and finish their season at home against East Hants on the holiday Monday at 7:30 p.m.

Until third place is decided, playoff pairings unfortunately cannot be set.
