Players named for Week of Sept 13-16

We are proud to announce our players of the week today for the opening week of the regular season:
 
Fred Fox Division- Sept 13-16:
 
1.  East Hants Goaltender — Fintan Boudreau - 5 points
 
Boudreau despite his team’s 7-0 win in their season opener still played an exceptional game and denied a number of Valley Maple Leaf players from being able to put anything past him turning away 26 shots including numerous difficult ones until the Leafs began to run out of steam in the third.
 
2.  South Shore Lumberjacks Defenseman  — Aaron Lane — 3 points
 
Lane one of the best defensemen in the league picked up 4 assists from the blue line as the South Shore Lumberjacks lost 5-3 to the Capstone Colts while defeating the Antigonish Jr. Bulldogs 5-1.  Both games were on the road.
 
3.  East Hants Forward Logan Durno — 1 point
 
     Durno opened the season diligently checking and hustled consistently in the Pens 7-0 win.  He was one of the East Hants players denied critical scoring chances on at least 2 occasions.
 
 
Sid Rowe Division:
 
1.   Antigonish Jr. Bulldogs Forward - Tully Grant — he recorded 3 assists in the Bulldogs 8-6 win over Membertou. - 5 pts.
 
2.  Membertou Jr. Miners — Alex Chenhall — Alex recorded a goal and 2 assists as his club the Membertou Jr. Miners squeaked by the Eskasoni Jr. Eagles 3-2. — 1 point
 
3.  Port Hawkesbury Strait Pirates Forward - Cohan Hickey — recorded a goal and 2 assists as the Pirates almost defeated Pictou before allowing the Scotians to score in overtime in their season opener.
